1Overview

Swirl marks are fine scratches in the clear coat. Under a single light they show as a web round its reflection, and they are why paint looks dull. Correction takes a very thin layer off the clear coat with a machine polisher until the scratches are gone, one panel at a time, checked under an inspection light as we go.

2What is included

  1. 1Wash and decontaminationThe paint has to be clean before it is polished.
  2. 2Paint depth readingsTaken across the car, so we know how much clear coat there is to work with.

3How it goes

  1. 1

    Wash and measure.

Clean paint, and a reading of how thick it is.

  2. 2

    Test a panel.

We find the gentlest polish that does the job.

  3. 3

    Correct.

The clear coat is levelled until the swirls are gone.

  4. 4

    Refine.

A finer polish brings back the depth and the gloss.

  5. 5

    Inspect.

Every panel under the light, with you if you like.
